As expected with the ending of a $1.9 billion contract with NASA, Reston, Virginia-based defense contractor and government service provider Vencore Services & Solutions Inc. will lay off 198 employees February 28, 2018. The total employee layoff count will be 613. As with any contractor who relies on government contracts, there is always the possibility that contractual changes will result in changes to the workforce. Fortunately, there are other defense contractors nearby that can offer employment to some of Vencore's most highly-skilled workers.
