AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT SUPERIOR INDUSTRIES INTERNATIONAL

Am I Next? Superior Industries International - Outsourcing to Mexico.

Southfield, Michigan-based Superior Industries International, one of the largest light vehicle aluminum wheel suppliers in the world, has announced that it will layoff 250 and 281 employees between November 2019 and June 2020 at its Fayetteville, Arkansas manufacturing facility. The company’s technical center, parts distribution, and clear-coating operations will remain operational.

According to a company spokesperson, “We have a strong and talented team in Fayetteville, but our facility has not operated at capacity nor has it won meaningful business awards for several years as we encountered many industry and competitive headwinds. ” After careful evaluation, we determined that it was necessary to consolidate our manufacturing operations in North America to maximize Superior’s competitiveness in the market.”

The company has moved four plants, including one in Rogers, Arkansas (2014 with 500 layoffs), to Chihuahua, Mexico. Aluminum is one of the commodities that is directly affected by the Trump Administration’s trade and tariff policies.

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life, or promises for a bright future. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
