Am I Next? Massive layoffs at Norpac Foods — Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.

Salem, Oregon-based Norpac Foods continues to wind down operations as the farmer-owned cooperative representing over 200 growers in Oregon’s Willamette Valley continues its Chapter 11 bankruptcy process. The total number of layoffs is estimated to be 1,477 employees which included 458 workers at its Salem repack facility, 466 at the company’s Brooks plant, 485 workers at its Stayton plant, and 38 workers at corporate offices and truck maintenance facility in Salem. One potential buyer has expressed interest in the company’s Quincy, Washington facility for $93.5 million. The company is said to owe over 5,000 creditors over $165 million.
