DECEMBER 11, 2020 — 178 LAYOFFS, RELOCATING FROM CAMPBELL, CALIFORNIA

The company has announced that it will be relocating its medical device operations and laying off 178 employees. The company is consolidating operations and moving operations to other company facilities, possibly to its Fremont, California campus.

According to a company spokesperson, “These actions in no way reflect on the collective performance of our employees at the Campbell site, and we very much appreciate their dedication and hard work.”

Berwyn, Pennsylvania-based TE Connectivity, a global designer and manufacturer of connectors and sensors for harsh environments, has announced that it will be downsizing its U.S. manufacturing capacity which will result in the closure of its design/engineering laboratory and manufacturing facility in Hemet, California. 240 employees will be laid off. The company’s operations will be transferred to other facilities located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Tullahoma, Tennessee.

A company spokesperson noted, “As a result of a continuing analysis of our industrial and commercial transportation business, TE Connectivity will relocate manufacturing operations and the engineering lab from our Hemet facility to other North American locations.
