LAYOFFS: NO LOVE AT RUSSELL STOVER CHOCOLATES

Am I Next? Russell Stover Chocolates to outsource marketing.

Kansas City, Missouri-based Russell Stover Chocolates, the iconic manufacturer of candy, chocolates, and confections and owned by Kilchberg, Switzerland-based Lindt & Sprüngli, has announced a new merchandising model. The changes will see approximately 300 executive and sales positions on merchandising teams affected. Marketing operations will be outsourced to what the company characterizes as “specialized third-party retail service companies.”

According to a company statement, “We greatly appreciate the dedication and hard work of the team as they have supported our brands and we are doing everything we can to ease the transition for them,” Calvert said in a statement provided to 41 Action News. “All affected individuals will receive severance benefits based on their length of service, bonus payment for 2019, and will have an opportunity to be eligible to fill roles with the third-party retail service companies.”

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
