AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT ALLIED UNIVERSAL

Am I Next? Loss of General Motors security services contract.

Conshohocken, Pennsylvania-based Allied Universal, a facility services company offering security, janitorial, and staffing services, has announced the loss of a General Motors security services contract and will layoff 664 employees at 29 facilities located in Michigan effective February 1, 2021.

Facilities in Flint, Saginaw, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Warren, and Bay City, Michigan are affected.

According to a General Motors spokesperson, "the company chose Jupiter, Florida-based G4S to provide security services at all of GM’s U.S. locations based on a thorough review of our security needs and a competitive review process."

“The safety and security of our employees and visitors at all of our sites is at the center of everything we do at GM. We will work closely with both Allied Security Services (a division of Allied Universal) and G4S in ensuring a smooth, safe transition."

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
