The company announced that it is laying off 320 employees, or 4% of its workforce, in response to an industry slowdown.

A company spokesperson noted, “We are streamlining our organization to ensure that our workforce is positioned to take advantage of our most promising opportunities, both now and when we emerge from the current industry downcycle,”

Hamilton, Bermuda-based Marvell Technology Group, a global semiconductor company, has announced that it will be cutting 124 positions, including 94 directors, engineers, and staff professionals, mostly at the company’s headquarters in Santa Clara, California.

t appears that the layoffs include 26 employees in IPBU (IP Business Unit), 12 employees in the SPBU (Server Processor Business Unit),  54 employees in Storage, and 29 in Networking.

According to a company spokesperson, “Marvell makes organizational changes to our global workforce on an ongoing basis. These updates focus on rebalancing our organization to match the current business outlook for our core markets and future success.”

This follows a layoff of 66 employees in June 2019 which included 20 in Santa Clara. I
