The company has announced that it will permanently lay off 129 employees at its Jacksonville, Florida headquarters commencing on January 13, 2024.

According to Venus CEO Laura Bollier, “This decision to reduce our workforce has been exceptionally challenging and is a direct result of the economic turbulence facing the fashion retail sector. The complex market environment also continued to be challenging for the American brand Venus.”

Jacksonville, Florida-based Venus Fashion, a clothing manufacturer specializing in directly marketing women's swimwear and fashions, has announced that it will reduce the headcount at its distribution center. Approximately 120 employees in receiving, warehousing, order fulfillment, and support services will be impacted, with layoffs scheduled for October 2020..

A spokesperson noted that the layoffs were not associated with the pandemic. It will open a second distribution center on the West Coast, sharing the workload between the two facilities to improve fulfillment operations and shipping time to customers.

The company began manufacturing masks for personal protection in response to the pandemic.
