Alpharetta, Georgia-based Golden Peanut and Tree Nuts, a global supplier of peanuts, peanut-derived ingredients, nut butters, tree nuts, pecans and pecan-derived ingredients, seeds, grains, and dried fruits, has announced that the company will be permanently closing its processing and distribution center located in El Paso, Texas.
The closure will affect approximately 86 employees at the facility which processes pecans and has a shelling plant, two cold storage warehouses and a packaging and distribution warehouse.
It is unknown how the closure will affect local growers who supply their raw nuts to the company under contract.
