AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT MAYFIELD CONSUMER PRODUCTS

Mayfield, Kentucky-based Mayfield Consumer Products, a manufacturer of candles and home fragrance products, has announced the total destruction of its candle-making facility located in Mayfield, Kentucky by a December 10, 2021, tornado. The tornado resulted in eight employee deaths and multiple injuries.

The closure will impact 501 employees who are deemed to be permanently laid off.

They said they expect all layoffs in Mayfield to be permanent.

According to a company statement, the company is accelerating the opening of its planned Hickory Point facility located in Hickory, Kentucky. "Although many employees are being offered a transfer to the HP facility, there will not be room for the entire operation to move to Hickory Point. Therefore, not all employees will be able to transition to that plant. Those employees not offered a transfer to the new facility will be laid off."

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
