AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT QUARTERNORTH ENERGY

Houston, Texas-based QuarterNorth Energy, a deep-water oil and gas producer with operations in the Gulf of Mexico, has announced the closure of its Lafayette, Louisiana, office and certain offshore locations.

According to the company, "The layoffs are a result of QuarterNorth Energy transitioning out of its role as a contract operator for GOM Shelf LLC and will stop services for GOM Shelf on November 30, 2022. The layoffs are scheduled between November 30, 2022, and December 13, 2022.

The decision to close the Lafayette, Louisiana office comes a month after a raid by federal investigators involving an alleged oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

QuarterNorth Energy is said to exploring a potential sale that could value the oil and gas producer at more than $2 billion.

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
