AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT PERFORCE / PUPPET

Minneapolis, Minnesota-based Perforce Software, a developer of software used for developing and running applications, including version control software, web-based repository management, developer collaboration, application lifecycle management, web application servers, debugging tools and Agile planning software, has announced the restructuring of its recently acquired Portland, Oregon-based software company Puppet. Puppet is an information technology automation software company designed for system administrators.

The restructuring will affect 15% of Puppet's workforce or approximately 75 employees less than three months after being acquired by Perforce. The reason given was to “balance operational efficiencies with continued innovation and position the company for continued growth.”

A Perforce spokesperson noted, “We recognize and regret this realignment impacts hard-working and talented individuals and we will be working with each of them to ensure the smoothest transition possible.”

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
