AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT TTM TECHNOLOGIES

Costa Mesa, California-based TTM Technologies, a manufacturer of technologically advanced printed circuit boards, and radio-frequency components including microwave/microelectronic assemblies, has announced plans to close selected facilities, including printed circuit board PCB manufacturing operations in Anaheim and Santa Clara, California, and Hong Kong and consolidate the business from these impacted sites into TTM’s remaining facilities.

The closures will impact 240 employees in Santa Clara, California, 102 employees in Anaheim, California, and an unknown number of Hong Kong employees.

According to Tom Edman, President and CEO of TTM Technologies, “Although demand for our aerospace and defense business remains very strong, current macro-economic conditions are causing a softening of demand for our commercial business. This has necessitated the need for us to streamline our manufacturing operations. These are extremely difficult decisions, and we realize these actions will likely have a significant impact on the lives of our dedicated employees at the Anaheim, Santa Clara, and Hong Kong locations. We will work with our employees to assist them through this transition.

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
