AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT BLOUNT FINE FOODS

Fall River, Massachusetts-based Blount Fine Foods, a wholesale manufacturer of pre-prepared foods and soups, has announced its intention to shut down its 80,000-square-foot food production facility in Portland, Oregon.

The facility closure will impact 198 employees.

According to Blount president and CEO Todd Blount, the company’s president and CEO, "The company plans to consolidate production to more established facilities in New England and Texas ahead of the fresh soup industry’s off-season.”

“We understand how difficult this is on the hard-working folks in that facility and are working to support them through this transition. While our Portland plant will ramp down production over the next two months, we will keep it at the ready for possible reintroduction as needed.”

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
