AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT PROGRESSUS THERAPY

Tampa, Florida-based Progessus Therapy, a unit of Doylestown, Pennsylvania-based Invo and a provider of comprehensive behavior, mental health, and therapy services, has announced

the company will discontinue home- and center-based services on September 18, 2023.

Multiple locations in Florida and Illinois” will be acquired by Florida Autism Center, a division of the Houston, Texas-based autism provider BlueSpring, as well as Lombard, Illinois-based Autism Therapy Group. Invo Healthcare is in talks with other “strategic partners” to which employees and patients alike will be transferred.

The closure will impact approximately 250 employees in three Georgia therapy centers in Savannah, Evans, and Columbus, Georgia, and commence on August 18, 2023.

Nationwide, Progressus Therapy centers and other Invo-owned centers will be laying off nearly 1,000 employees, including 300 employees in Florida.

The company provides applied behavioral analysis, a common treatment for autism spectrum disorder, patient care will be continued as the company transitions to an unnamed strategic partner.

According to a company spokesperson, “Please know this decision was not made lightly. We recognize the enormous personal impact this has on you, our teams, our patients, and their families.”

"After spending the last year and a half on multiple initiatives, operational upgrades, and potential alternatives to keep our home and center-based operations intact, we ultimately came to the difficult decision to discontinue this aspect of our business."

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
