LAYOFFS: NO LOVE AT DYNCORP INTERNATIONAL (12/09/2020)

Am I Next? Dyncorp contract loss leads to layoffs.

DECEMBER 9, 2020 — 132 LAYOFFS IN ELIZABETH CITY, NORTH CAROLINA

The company has announced 132 layoffs at its Elizabeth City, North Carolina facility where work will continue. Layoffs will commence February 4, 2021.

The decision was driven by a contractual reduction in the scope of work to be performed by the company. The company supports U.S. Coast Guard Air Operations with structural inspections, depot-level maintainace and other support activities at the Aviation Logistics Center at USCG Base Elizabeth City in North Carolina.

DynCorp recently was acquired by Germantown, Maryland-based federal contractor Amentum with the acquisition closing in November, 2020.

Look for some additional consolidation and layoffs as duplicative functions are eliminated to obtain corporate synergies and cost reductions.
