AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT SINCLAIR BROADCAST GROUP

Am I Next? Cost-cutting at Sinclair Broadcast Group

Hunt Valley, Maryland-based Sinclair Broadcast Group, a telecommunications and media programming company with broadcast operations including broadcast television, niche content services, and affiliate programming, has announced that it will be laying off 550 employees or approximately 5% of its workforce.

The decision was driven by the general slowdown and economic impact of the novel coronavirus pandemic.

According to a company spokesperson, "The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic continues to be felt across all sectors of the economy, something that can have a profound impact on a company as diversified as ours."

"From local businesses and advertisers to distributors and partners, no component of our business’s ecosystem has been fully shielded from the impact of the global pandemic. In response to this, we are currently undergoing enterprise-wide reductions across our workforce, including corporate headquarters, to ensure we are well-positioned for future success."

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
