Newton, Massachusetts-based Rockport Group, manufacturers of Rockport shoes and other brands, has announced that the company plans to close its Newton, Massachusetts, headquarters in July 2023.
The closure will impact 146 employees between July 8, 2023, and July 22, 2023.
Boston, Massachusetts-based private equity firm Charlesbank Capital Partners, the owners of Rockport who acquired the company from bankruptcy in 2018, refused to comment.
The company has already reduced its footprint in the building that it now shares with the restaurant chain Panera.
