AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT NOMAD HEALTH

New York City, New York-based Nomad Health, an online marketplace that directly connects physicians, nurses, and medical facilities to healthcare jobs, has announced a second reduction in its nonclinical workforce to realign personnel with marketplace conditions.

The reduction will impact 25% of the workforce, or approximately 145 employees. This follows a previous 17% reduction, or 119 employees, in February 2023.

According to a company spokesperson, "While demand for contract nurses and allied health professionals remains high, healthcare organizations are grappling with budget shortfalls, which directly impact their immediate staffing demands. The reduction was a necessary but painful response to those changing demands."

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?

AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT NOVANT HEALTH

Winston-Salem, North Carolina-based Novant Health, an integrated network of physician clinics, outpatient centers, and hospitals, has announced an organizational redesign, including a reduction in force.

The personnel realignment will impact 160 employees, mainly in management and administrative roles, across the company's network. This is the second layoff as the previous March 2023 impacted 50 employees, including executive positions.

According to a company spokesperson, “Novant Health is making changes across the health system as part of an organizational redesign plan. In a challenging healthcare environment, we are focused on how we can work differently to prioritize direct patient care, operate more efficiently, and reimagine how we serve our patients. This decision absolutely will not affect our ability to deliver high-quality, safe care to our patients and communities."

"Novant Health is a strong organization with a bold vision for the future, exploring new and different ways to innovate to deliver even better care and create remarkable experiences for our patients, people, and communities.”

AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT COMMONSPIRIT HEALTH

Chicago, Illinois-based CommonSpirit Health, a Catholic healthcare provider operating 142 hospitals and 700 care sites in 24 states, has announced a major reduction in force.

The personnel cuts will impact 2,000 full-time equivalent employee positions, mainly in ancillary, support, and overhead functions across the enterprise.

According to a company statement, "Like many health care providers, we are experiencing tremendous financial strain caused by a number of factors. As a result, we are taking steps to improve efficiency and effectiveness that may include changes that impact roles in our divisions and at the national office, as well as reduce our costs where appropriate."
