Los Angeles, California-based VCA Animal Hospitals, the largest network of veterinary hospitals and clinics in North America, has announced a restructuring that will involve organizational changes at its headquarters and closure of its VCA Bay Area Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Hospital in San Leandro, California.
The restructuring will impact 200 employees, both corporate and veterinary team members, including an assistant vice president and controller, a database administrator, a vice president in charge of data compliance, and information technology personnel involved in operations, telecommunications, purchasing, and accounts payable. Separations will commence on September 1, 2026, and be completed by November 15, 2026.
According to a spokesperson, "To ensure we can continue investing in our people, advancing veterinary medicine, and delivering high-quality care to pets and value to their owners, we have made organizational changes that impact a small portion of our workforce., We are committed to supporting our associates throughout the transition — including continuing to work to keep impacted associates within our network through other roles wherever possible.”
