AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT SAFESOURCE DIRECT

Broussard, Louisiana-based SafeSource Direct, a manufacturer of personal protective equipment (PPE) for essential workers, has announced an abrupt suspension of its nitrile glove and man-made fiber PPE manufacturing operations and appears to be under significant financial stress.

The operational halt impacts 541 employees.

President Justin Hollingsworth noted, "Like many in our industry, we have faced significant market challenges and made the difficult decision to suspend PPE manufacturing operations until market conditions improve. We are continuing construction of the NBR facility. We are deeply proud of what has been built and grateful to all those who contributed to our mission."

“We are proud of what our team accomplished as they boldly responded to the nation’s call to protect frontline workers and help strengthen America’s PPE supply chain in an unprecedented time. We successfully established a manufacturing base capable of supplying the nation with a reliable source of PPE, and it is extremely unfortunate that market conditions, which have been unsupportive for several years, do not permit sustained domestic production."

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life, nor promises of a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something terrible hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, at any time, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. While many employees can read the writing on the wall, why do most assume it’s targeted at someone else? Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
