AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT COCA-COLA COMPANY

Atlanta, Georgia-based Coca-Cola Company, the iconic soft drink company, has announced the previously planned closure of its non-carbonated beverage bottling plant in Northampton, Massachusetts.

The closure will impact 175 employees and will take place between August 15, 2026, and November 30, 2026, with final plant operations ceasing by the end of 2026.

According to a company spokesperson, “The Coca-Cola Company is moving forward with plans to close its production facility in Northampton, Mass., by the end of 2026. The company is grateful to have been part of the Northampton community for many years. While employees have been aware of these plans for some time, the company is issuing formal notices now to provide as much advance notice as possible. The company is committed to supporting employees through this transition, including working closely with the state to identify new job opportunities.”

Change is constant, and it's coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life, nor promises of a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something terrible hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, at any time, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. While many employees can read the writing on the wall, why do most assume it’s targeted at someone else? Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
