AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT GAF / BUILDING MATERIALS MANUFACTURING

Parsippany, New Jersey-based GAF, a manufacturer and distributor of roofing and waterproofing products for industrial, commercial, and residential use, has announced the closure of its Minneapolis, Minnesota, facility, operating as Building Materials Manufacturing, LLC.

The closure will affect 120 employees, effective April 4, 2026.

A company spokesperson noted, “To best position GAF for continued long-term growth, we are strategically investing in the manufacturing sites that have the most significant advantages in scale and capability to meet our customers’ needs. As part of this effort, we have made the difficult decision to permanently cease production at our Minneapolis facility, effective immediately.”

Change is constant, and it's coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life, nor promises of a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something terrible hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, at any time, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. While many employees can read the writing on the wall, why do most assume it’s targeted at someone else? Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
