AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT SHIPMONK

Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based ShipMonk, a third-party logistics provider, has announced the closure of its 332,000-square-foot warehouse and automated fulfillment center located in San Bernardino, California.

The closure will affect 124 employees and take effect on June 30, 2026.

It appears the decision was driven by a company restructuring to shift focus from reliance on smaller regional sites to larger, high-volume operations, such as those in Nevada and Pennsylvania.

Change is constant, and it's coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life, nor promises of a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something terrible hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, at any time, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. While many employees can read the writing on the wall, why do most assume it’s targeted at someone else? Are you now wondering, Am I Next?

AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT LINEAGE LOGISTICS

Novi, Michigan-based Lineage Logistics, a temperature-controlled warehouse real estate investment trust that provides custom cold chain and dedicated cold storage warehousing, has announced a major reduction in force at its Highridge Business Park cold-storage facility in East Pottsville, Pennsylvania.

The personnel realignment will affect 208 employees, with layoffs effective May 27, 2026.

The decision was driven by the company's loss of customers for that specific facility.

AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT ZENITH LOGISTICS

Walton, Kentucky-based Zenith Logistics, as a third-party specialized warehouse and distribution operator for Kroger, has announced the closure of its warehouse and distribution center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The closure will impact 225 employees.

According to a company statement, "A customer is transitioning its work to a different provider approximately 20 miles away." As of late 2025, Kroger is shifting its Ohio logistics strategy from relying solely on automated customer fulfillment centers to a hybrid model, closing some automated hubs while partnering more heavily with third-party providers.
