Minneapolis, Minnesota-based Jamf Holding Corp., a software development company specializing in Apple device management, has announced a 6.4% reduction in its workforce as part of its strategic reinvestment plan, aimed at decreasing operating costs while improving margins.

The reduction will impact approximately 160 full-time employees and follows a previous 6% reduction (170 employees) in late January 2024, aimed at streamlining costs and sharpening margins.

The company declined to provide additional information.

San Francisco, California-based Automattic, a software development company specializing in online services, has announced a restructuring that will result in a 16%reduction in its workforce across all departments.

The personnel realignment will impact 281 employees.

According to CEO Matt Mullenweg,,,

I have had to make difficult decisions to protect Automattic’s long-term future. This post will outline why the changes are happening and the next steps in our organizational restructuring. I wish to be transparent and acknowledge immediately that this will be difficult news to hear. We will do everything to ensure that all Automatticians, those staying and those leaving, are supported.

Why We’re Making Changes

We have reached an important crossroads. While our revenue continues to grow, Automattic operates in a highly competitive market, and technology is evolving at unprecedented levels. To support our customers and products, we must improve our productivity, profitability, and capacity to invest.

As difficult as this decision has been, we are restructuring the company to:

  • Become more agile and responsive.

  • Break down silos that have created inefficiencies.

  • Focus on product quality, doing fewer things better.

  • Ensure a viable financial model for long-term success.

What This Means

This restructuring will result in an approximately 16% workforce reduction. HR will email those impacted to inform them they will leave Automattic with financial and support benefits.

This process is complex with Automatticians in 90 countries, but we’re committed to communicating clearly and compassionately. Colleagues who will be leaving will receive:

AUGUST 23, 2025 — 106 WASHINGTON STATE EMPLOYEES

The company has announced another 2% reduction in force, with 106 layoffs impacting offices in Seattle and Liberty Lake, Washington.

According to a company spokesperson, “Today, we announced changes in our product organization to better align resources with important customer needs and our highest business priorities. As part of these changes, selected roles were eliminated, while other employees were placed into new roles supporting strategic growth areas.”

OCTOBER 29, 2024 — APPROXIMATELY 110 EMPLOYEES AT RISK

Resuming annual layoffs after the Covid pause, the company is executing a 2% reduction in its workforce, primarily in the marketing-related content production team.

According to a company spokesperson, “These changes are part of a broader effort to align resources to our highest priority areas and ensure we are best positioned to meet the continually evolving needs of our customers and our business.”

Seattle, Washington-based F5, a technology company specializing in application security, multi-cloud management, online fraud prevention, and networking applications, has announced a cost-cutting initiative featuring a 9% reduction in its workforce.

The reduction will impact 623 workers. Other measures include reducing executive bonuses, consolidating its real estate footprint, slowing hiring, reducing travel, and virtualizing some company events.

F5 CEO François Locoh-Donou noted, “Rising interest rates, geopolitical events, and macroeconomic uncertainty have dramatically affected our customers’ spending patterns” over the past six months. We do not believe this environment will persist, but we also do not know what the ‘new normal’ will look like when it comes. Because of this uncertainty, we must take measures to decrease our costs without jeopardizing our future growth trajectory.”
