Richmond, Virginia-based CarMax, a large-scale retail used-car seller, announced its continuing "running leaner" initiative with a 4% reduction in force among the corporate employees..
The reduction in force affects 145 corporate employees and marks the third round of layoffs in 11 months.
According to a spokesperson, “We have made the difficult decision to reduce our corporate office staffing by approximately 145 associates to support our strategic priorities and operate with a leaner corporate workforce. These changes will help us move faster and align teams more effectively. By running leaner as an organization, we are positioning CarMax to be more competitive, drive sustainable growth, and provide even more value for our customers.”
