Goodyear, Arizona-based Meyer Burger Americas, a German solar module manufacturer, has ceased heterojunction solar module production at its Goodyear, Arizona, plant and its leased warehouse facility as it faced cheaper products imported from Asia.
The closure impacts 282 employees.
According to a company spokesperson, "Intensive efforts were made to keep the sites open during the ongoing restructuring negotiations. These efforts have not been successful to date and will now be continued as part of the proceedings, together with a provisional insolvency administrator to be appointed by the court.
