AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT ONX HOMES

Carrollton, Texas-based Onx Homes, a manufacturer of pre-fab, factory-built storm-proof homes and structures, continues their restructuring that includes the gradual winding down of its robotics-driven factory in Pompano Beach, Florida, and its “plug-and-play bathroom pods" facility in Homestead, Florida.

The wind-down will impact 137 employees in Pompano (30 employees) and Homestead (107 employees) manufacturing facilities, resulting in layoffs between December 14, 2025, and December 28, 2025.

According to the company, "This effort is a strategic response to current housing market challenges, including higher costs and slower demand. The company is also shifting its focus to address cost, speed, and resilience in its building process. These external factors have made it increasingly difficult to sustain operations at our current scale.”

“As part of our broader strategic restructuring, we are gradually ramping down staffing levels and production volumes at both facilities and other operational sites to align with current market conditions.” We remain proud of the innovation and efficiency that our technology has brought to the homebuilding industry.”

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life, nor promises of a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something terrible hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, at any time, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. While many employees can read the writing on the wall, why do most assume it’s targeted at someone else? Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
