Auburn Hills, Michigan-based Forvia, an automotive components supplier specializing in seating and interior components, has announced the closure of its metals department located in Highland Park, Michigan.The metal-forming facility provides seating components for the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. Production is being moved to Mexico.

The relocations of the Highland Park metals department will impact 268 employees and be completed by complete by January 31, 2023.

According to a company spokesperson, "Changes like these help us effectively and efficiently leverage our manufacturing footprint, better service our customers and leverage utilization to meet our production requirements."

The layoffs will impact 230 employees.

Goshen, Indiana-based Keystone RV, a manufacturer of an extensive range of travel and fifth wheel trailers, has announced the closure of two facilities in Goshen, Indiana.

The facility closures will affect 334 employees, including management and production employees.

A company spokesperson noted, "The high fuel prices, and the dealers don’t want to buy, buy the units that that we’re producing. So, I guess a lot of them is just sitting. And so, with the fuel prices the way that they are, we no longer have orders.”
