AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT MERSANA THERAPEUTICS

Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Mersana Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of novel antibody-drug conjugates, has announced a major reduction in force following the failure of an ovarian cancer drug clinical trial.

Approximately 50% of the workforce, or 114 employees are scheduled to be laid off.

Mersana CEO Anna Protopapas noted, “As an organization driven by a mission to discover and develop potentially life-changing ADCs for patients fighting cancer, UPLIFT’s outcome is clearly disappointing and requires us to reprioritize our areas of focus. A very talented group of employees who helped to build Mersana will be departing as a result of this strategic reprioritization. We are grateful for their many contributions and intend to provide strong support through their transition.”

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
