AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT CHANGE HEALTHCARE

Nashville, Tennessee-based Change Healthcare, a provider of technology, data analytics, and software for revenue and payment cycle management and clinical information exchange solutions for the healthcare industry has announced that it will execute a reduction in force at its Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania offices.

The reduction will impact 170 employees and will commence on February 4, 2022, and continue for the next 90 days. It is believed that this cost-cutting is in preparation for the company's acquisition by

Minnetonka, Minnesota-based UnitedHealth Group, America's largest healthcare benefits manager, by the early part of 2022.

There is no doubt that further restructuring and reductions in headcount will occur in the post-acquisition period as operations are consolidated, duplications are eliminated, and systems are optimized.

According to a company spokesperson, "We continually evaluate our business to ensure we're investing our time, energy, and resources in the right places to grow, innovate and operate efficiently. To that end, we made some changes last month that impacted a number of our employees. We do not make these decisions lightly."

Change, no pun intended, is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
