AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT ALLIED HEALTHCARE PRODUCTS

St. Louis, Missouri-based Allied Healthcare Products, a manufacturer of healthcare devices including respirators and other emergency equipment, has announced the closure of its Sublette manufacturing facility located in St. Louis, Missouri.

The closure will affect 160 employees, including the President/CEO and Chief Financial Officer, on or about February 21, 2023. The decision appears to be driven by the reduction in pandemic-related ventilator revenue, supply chain disruptions, and various personnel retention and overtime costs.

According to an SEC filing, "On December 19, 2022, the Board of Directors of Allied Healthcare Products approved a reduction in force that will impact employees of its St. Louis, Missouri manufacturing facilities and certain employees of its administrative offices. The reduction in force has been adopted in response to the Company’s ongoing losses from operations."

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?

According to a company spokesperson, "The company is in active discussions with possible buyers, and it's required to file notices in New York and California regarding potential upcoming layoffs."
