Am I Next? Great danger in even casual comments.

APRIL 27, 2021 — A CASUAL COMMENT CAUGHT ON VIDEO AND A CEO LOSES HIS JOB WITHOUT REGARD TO HIS VALUE TO THE COMPANY.

Nothing matters. Not the CEO’s education, experience, ability, skillset, previous performance, or future value to the company. The company caves.

Am I Next? CEO comments on gay teen’s prom dress.

It appears that someone captured a video, now gone viral, of Johnson appearing to argue with gay high school senior, Dalton Stevens, over his choice to wear a red prom gown in an outdoor area of the Harpeth Hotel located in Franklin, Tennessee.

Succumbing to mob pressure on social media platforms, the company issued this statement...

"We unequivocally condemn the behavior exhibited by Sam Johnson in a recent video widely circulated on social media. After investigating the matter and speaking to individuals involved, the VisuWell Board of Directors has chosen to terminate Mr. Johnson from his position as CEO, effective immediately. Gerry Andrady, our President and COO, will lead the company through this important time.

VisuWell’s culture emphasizes respect, kindness, and compassion, especially for those from traditionally marginalized communities, and we maintain a zero-tolerance policy for intolerance of any kind. Mr. Johnson’s actions contradicted the high standards we set for ourselves in promoting the health of those who use our platform.

We share the concerns that so many have expressed on this matter and look forward to announcing concrete steps we are taking in support of the LGBTQ community in particular over the coming weeks."

"In response to those asking for additional clarity on Sam Johnson’s termination as CEO, we can confirm that Mr. Johnson is no longer employed by VisuWell in any capacity. He no longer has a position on the Board of Directors or any informal advisory role. His behavior was not representative of our values, which include respect and compassion for all."

AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT NORTHERN CALIFORNIA MEDICAL ASSOCIATES

Am I Next? Northern California Medical Associates closing Santa Rosa, California office due to natural disasters.

Santa Rosa, California-based Northern California Medical Associates, a large independent physician-owned multi-specialty medical group, has announced the closure of its Santa Rosa, California offices. The May 1, 2021, closure will impact 151 employees, including physicians and support staff.

The decision driving the closure was the circumstances surrounding the Glass wildfire incident and its subsequent impact on the practice, both financial and operational, including closures due to poor air quality.

According to a practice spokesperson, "We regret to inform you that three years of natural disaster and corporate financial decline will force Northern California Medical Associates to cease doing clinical business. This closing will involve cessation of all operations and termination of all employees at the site, with the exception of those continuing on in administration with closure duties."

The company's other locations in Fountain Grove and Petaluma have been periodically closed for what the company describes as "technical difficulties."

AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT THE OLYMPIA MEDICAL CENTER

Am I Next? Los Angeles Olympia Medical Center to close.

Los Angeles, California-based Olympia Medical Center, a small 204-bed Los Angeles area hospital, has elected to voluntarily shut down all medical activities on March 31, 2021, and layoff 451 healthcare and support employees.

The owner of Olympia Medical Center, Irvine, California-based Alecto Healthcare, has sold the facility to the UCLA Health System which plans to renovate and repurpose the facility.

According to a UCLA spokesperson, “UCLA Health regularly considers property purchases and growth opportunities in the region that allow us to expand access to care for patients who need our services. The operators decided to sell the property and will be winding down their services over the next few months before closing the hospital.”

"UCLA Health will be launching an initial planning process for a state-of-the-art major facility renovation of the former Olympia Medical Center campus. The initial plans will include exploration of inpatient and outpatient mental health services — a dire and unmet need in Los Angeles County with few and shrinking providers of inpatient care."
