JANUARY 3, 2026 — DALLAS, TEXAS FACILITY CLOSURE

Dallas-based Telvista has notified the State of Virginia that it will permanently close its Danville, Virginia, facility on March 7, 2018. Approximately 300 employees will lose their jobs, in addition to the 222 who lost their jobs in 2017. The closing should come as no surprise to any employee since the well-publicized loss of a major call center contract with Verizon. Telvista provides contracted call center services for companies that find it cost-effective to outsource scalable, labor-intensive contact center services and avoid the legal complications associated with a function characterized by high personnel training and turnover rates. Televista has a major presence in Mexico, with six call centers, including its Dallas facility.

No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. While many employees can read the writing on the wall, why do most assume it’s targeted at someone else? Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
