Morona, Wisconsin-based WPS Health Solutions, a not-for-profit health insurer specializing in insurance services for active-duty and retired military personnel, has announced plans to lay off 128 employees state-wide, including 36 employees located at its Morona headquarters and 92 located in Rothschild, Wisconsin. The layoffs are schedules to occur on May 3, 2021.
According to a company spokesperson, "In response to competitive pressures and contract changes in the federal government contracts market, Wisconsin Physicians Service Insurance Corporation is reducing resources across the corporation.
Like all companies that rely on government contracts, there are unpredictable fluctuations in staffing levels as contracts are awarded, canceled, or modified.
