AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT PLURALSIGHT (06/28/25)

JUNE 28, 2025 — RELOCATION, RESTRUCTURING, AND A 17% REDUCTION IN FORCE

Pluralsight announced it is laying off 17% of its global workforce and moving its corporate headquarters from Draper, Utah, to Westlake, Texas.

According to CEO Erin Gajdalo, "Over the past year, we have been transforming our business to position the company for sustained growth and to enhance the value we provide for our customers. As we focus on the growth and sustainability of our business, we determined that a new and rightsized headquarters is in the best interest of Pluralsight. To our team members, partners, and customers in the Salt Lake area and Utah more broadly, we remain fully committed to serving you with excellence, and we expect our total employee population in the state to remain consistent. Utah is where Pluralsight was founded more than 20 years ago and we are grateful to the state for the important role it has played in Pluralsight's history."

Draper, Utah-based Pluralsight, an online education company that offers video training courses for software developers, IT administrators, and creative professionals, has announced a 20% reduction in its workforce.

The reduction will impact 400 employees.

According to CEO Aaron Skonnard, “As Pluralsight’s co-founder and CEO, I have had to share some difficult news at various points in our company’s history. What I am sharing today is one of the toughest messages that I’ve ever delivered. I’ve spoken to all of you this year about the challenging economic environment we’re operating in and how it has affected our business performance. Unfortunately, these challenges have only accelerated in Q4 and, as a result, today we are restructuring and reducing the size of our team, impacting roughly 20% of our team members. As your CEO, I own this outcome and take full responsibility for the decisions that got us here.”

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
