In an SEC filing, the company announced…
On January 26, 2026, the Company announced the board-approved global restructuring plan (the “Plan”) that includes a reduction in force that is expected to affect less than 15% of the Company’s workforce as well as office space reductions.
The reduction will affect approximately 700 employees.
According to a company spokesperson, “We are making organizational changes to further deliver on our AI-forward strategy, which includes hiring AI-proficient talent. As a result, we’ve made the difficult decision to say goodbye to some of our team members. We are grateful for their service and supporting them with separation packages and benefits.”

San Francisco, California-based Pinterest, the iconic image-sharing and social media service, has announced continuing organizational changes and another round of layoffs following its December 2022 reduction in force.
The changes will impact 150 employees.
According to a company spokesperson, "The company is making organizational changes to further set us up to deliver against our company priorities and our long-term strategy. Our employees are the heart of how we’re able to serve our Pinners around the world. All of the employees who were impacted contributed to Pinterest and as they transition, we’re committed to supporting them with separation packages, benefits, and other services.”
It is likely that these changes are being driven by activist investor Elliott Management, famous for driving leadership changes, divestments of underperforming assets, deep personnel reductions, stock buybacks, upstreamed dividends, and, sometimes, the sale or merger of the company.
Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something bad hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
