New York City, New York-based Pfizer, the iconic pharmaceutical giant, has announced a reduction in force at its Portage, Michigan, 1,300-acre manufacturing facility due to a projected decline in sales for products produced at this site.
The reduction will affect 150 employees
According to a company spokesperson, “Pfizer does not take these changes lightly. Our colleagues are our top priority, and we are committed to keeping them informed throughout the process and providing them with support services. The company regularly evaluates its manufacturing network to align capacity with patient needs, projected product demand, and long-term business goals. The layoffs do not reflect employee performance."
Change is constant, and it's coming. Tomorrow will always come, no matter how much you try to ignore it. Life offers no guarantees, nor promises of a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something terrible hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. While many employees can read the writing on the wall, why do most assume it’s targeted at someone else? Are you wondering, "Am I Next?"
