West Des Moines, Iowa-based UnityPoint Health, a not-for-profit regional health system, has announced a restructuring of its information technology and revenue department as it prepares to outsource its IT technology functions to Dublin, Ireland-based Accenture, a multinational technology consultancy and a provider of outsourced business process operations, and revenue cycle operations to Boca Raton, Florida-based Omega Healthcare.
The outsourcing operation will affect 207 Information Technology positions and an unspecified number of revenue cycle roles, with terminations scheduled on July 24, 2026.
According to a spokesperson, "Our focus is on transitioning select functions to a third-party vendor to help UnityPoint Health leverage advanced technologies, reduce costs, and improve the overall user experience, while maintaining local leadership oversight, governance, and accountability for these functions. Expanding clinical services and patient access points remain a top priority as the system realigns its IT and revenue cycle services to better match current and future needs."
