Virginia-based Bowhead Logistics Management, a subsidiary of UIC Government Services and a provider of maintenance and logistics support, including warehousing, vehicle maintenance, and other support services, primarily to the Letterkenny Army Depot, has announced a mass layoff due to an expiring contract.
The personnel adjustment will impact 307 employees located at the Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, effective May 10, 2026.
According to a company statement, “The U.S. Army and Letterkenny Army Depot are important and valued customers for Bowhead Logistics Management, and we have a responsibility to our customers to remain flexible and respond to changes in their workforce requirements. We will work with our customer through these changes and continue to support the mission of the U.S. Army, Letterkenny Army Depot, and our military service members.”
Change is constant, and it's coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life, nor promises of a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something terrible hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, at any time, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. While many employees can read the writing on the wall, why do most assume it’s targeted at someone else? Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
