AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT STANLEY BLACK & DECKER

New Britain, Connecticut-based Stanley Black & Decker, the iconic tool, hardware, and appliance manufacturer, is continuing its restructuring to consolidate its operations and will close its Gallatin, Tennessee, plant between August 28, 2026, and December 30, 2026.

The closure will impact 116 employees.

According to a company spokesperson, “As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen the business and meet the evolving needs of our customers and end users, Stanley Black & Decker has made the strategic decision to close its Gallatin, Tennessee, site. This action reflects a forward-looking approach to aligning our supply chain network with market demand and the future needs of the business. We are committed to supporting impacted employees through this transition, including exploring employment opportunities at other Stanley Black & Decker facilities and operations, as well as providing severance and job placement support services.”

Change is constant, and it's coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life, nor promises of a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something terrible hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, at any time, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. While many employees can read the writing on the wall, why do most assume it’s targeted at someone else? Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
