Houston, Texas-based Baker Hughes, an oil field services and energy technology company, has announced that, as part of its restructuring efforts in its industrial and energy technology business segments, it will close its Emmott Road manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas.
The closure will impact 174 employees, including manufacturing, engineering, materials, purchasing and other support employees, with phased layoffs lasting through April 2027.
According to a spokesperson, "Baker Hughes continually reviews our portfolio and business operations to ensure we are best positioned to serve our customers and deliver on our long-term growth objectives. These decisions are always difficult and are made with the utmost sensitivity to the impact on employees, communities and customers.”
