AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT CROTHALL HEALTHCARE

Wayne, Pennsylvania-based Crothall Healthcare, a third-party provider of environmental and janitorial services to the healthcare industry, has announced it will conduct a reduction in force after its VCU Health contract expires.

The reduction will impact 545 employees at VCU Health facilities in Richmond, Virginia. The decision stems from the client's transition to another housekeeping vendor, HHS Environmental Services.

According to a spokesperson, “Our environmental services (EVS) contract with VCU Health is ending, effective October 31, 2026. We have been honored to serve patients, clinical caregivers, and guests at VCU Health over the last six years, and we will be working closely with hospital leadership to ensure this transition is as smooth as possible."

Change is constant, and it's coming. Tomorrow will always come, no matter how much you try to ignore it. Life offers no guarantees, nor promises of a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something terrible hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, at any time, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. While many employees can read the writing on the wall, why do most assume it’s targeted at someone else? Are you wondering, "Am I next"?
