The company announced a reduction in force at its Fargo, North Dakota, tractors and loader manufacturing facility, which is attributable to current and anticipated market conditions in the agricultural machinery market.

The reduction in workforce will impact 198 employees.

Amsterdam, Netherlands-based CNH Industrial, a designer, manufacturer, and seller of agricultural and construction equipment, has announced a company-wide reorganization and cost-reduction initiative that has resulted in the layoff of employees in its Case New Holland tractor factory in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin. The work is said to be outsourced to a Mexican facility.

The closure will impact 220 employees, with even more layoffs being contemplated.

Some believe it is a response to the company's previous troubles with its unionized workforce, including a nine-month strike.

AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT QUANEX BUILDING PRODUCTS

Houston, Texas-based Quanex Building Products, a manufacturer/distributor of building components, has announced that its building components subsidiary Kent, Washington-based Mikron Industries, a manufacturer of vinyl and composite window and door components, will close its Richmond, Kentucky manufacturing plant.

The closure will impact 140 employees in phases commencing June 7, 2024.

According to Quanex President and CEO George Wilson, "As mentioned on our December call, we entered this year with a somewhat cautious outlook for the first half due to the ongoing macroeconomic challenges, but we remain optimistic that demand for our products will improve in the second half as consumer confidence is restored over time. While the near-term outlook for our business remains somewhat cautious, our long-term view has not changed, and we believe the underlying fundamentals for the residential housing market remain positive."

Skillman, Montgomery, New Jersey-based Kenvue, a consumer health products company, formerly the Consumer Healthcare division of Johnson & Johnson, has announced the closure of its Neutrogena subsidiary's headquarters office in Los Angeles, California to consolidate operations in New Jersey. In addition, Kenvue announced that it is laying off employees at its headquarters and restructuring other parts of the business. Neutrogena produces soaps, cosmetics, and other skincare and hair care products.

The Los Angeles office closure will impact 84 employees and an additional 51 employees at the company's headquarters for a total of 135 layoffs.

According to a company spokesman, “Decisions that impact our employees are never easy.”
