AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT MAIN LINE HEALTH

Radnor, Pennsylvania-based Main Line Health, an integrated not-for-profit health system with four acute care hospitals, various clinics, and a home health delivery system, has announced a cost savings initiative that will result in a reduction in force.

The personnel adjustment will impact about 200 non-clinical employees, including those in management, information technology, finance, human resources, revenue cycle, and accounting.

The decision was driven by Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement rates that have not kept pace with rising costs.

According to a company statement, "While we are proud of our progress, we still face significant financial hurdles. We have made the very difficult decision to make structural changes that are primarily focused on updating our management structure. These changes will not impact our ability to provide safe, high quality and equitable care to our patients and the communities we serve."

Change is coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life or promises for a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something terrible hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, anytime, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. While many employees can read the writing on the wall, why do most assume it’s targeted at someone else? Are you now wondering, Am I Next?

AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT FOSTER FARMS

Livingston, California-based Foster Farms, a poultry processor specializing in chicken and turkey parts, has announced the closure of its Turlock, California turkey processing plant.

The closure will impact 519 employees and commence on May 9, 2025.

According to a company statement, “Foster Farms is closing its fresh turkey operations, Turkey Live Haul, and Turkey Feed Mill. The first employment separations resulting from this closure are expected to occur on or about May 9, 2025. The closure of these locations is anticipated to be permanent. However, not all Foster Farms operations in Turlock are being closed.

“We recognize that this decision impacts the lives of many of our committed team members and does not reflect their efforts,” said Foster Farms CEO Jayson Penn. “We thank the team for their contributions, hard work, and ongoing dedication as we support them throughout this transition.”

AM I NEXT? NO LOVE AT DANFOSS POWER SOLUTIONS

Ames, Iowa-based Danfoss Power Solutions, a manufacturer of engine hydraulics, cooling, and heating products, has announced that its Eden Prairie, Minnesota, manufacturing facility will close by the end of 2025.

The closure will impact 110 employees affected by the layoffs, including those in engineering, manufacturing, shipping, testing, and management. The first round of layoffs will commence during a two-week period beginning on March 25, 2025. Additional layoffs are scheduled in May and December.

The decision is believed to have been driven by the company's Danish parent, which has experienced declining revenues.
