Berlin, Germany-based HelloFresh, a pre-portioned meal-kit provider in the United States, has announced the closure of its Swedesboro, New Jersey, distribution center
The closure on September 30, 2026, will impact 374 employees.
A company spokesperson noted, “Operational efficiency is central to everything we do at HelloFresh, and we regularly evaluate our fulfillment setup to ensure we operate as effectively as possible. Following a review of our footprint, we have decided to close our Swedesboro, New Jersey, distribution center on September 30, 2026, and will seamlessly integrate its operations into our broader fulfillment network. We are deeply grateful for the contributions of our Swedesboro team members, and we are committed to supporting eligible employees affected by this transition with severance assistance, extended healthcare support, career transition resources, and internal transfer opportunities where available.
Change is constant, and it's coming. There will always be a tomorrow, no matter how much you may try to ignore it. There are no guarantees in life, nor promises of a bright future. We see good people being laid off through no fault of their own. Just because something terrible hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. It can happen to anyone, at any time, anywhere. No one is guaranteed to wake up tomorrow and still have a job by evening. While many employees can read the writing on the wall, why do most assume it’s targeted at someone else? Are you now wondering, Am I Next?
