Camden, New Jersey-based Campbell's, the iconic processed food company that produces soups and other canned foods, baked goods, beverages, and snacks, announced a 13% reduction in its salaried workforce.
The reduction in force impacted up to 645 employees.
According to CEO Mick Beekhuizen, “Our results remain unacceptable. But instead of waiting for the environment to improve around us, we are addressing reality head-on. Looking ahead, our top priority is to get closer to the consumer in everything we do. This is not new, but it’s a philosophy we must follow with greater speed and discipline.”
